The Iron Gym pull up bar offers a wide variety of different work outs. This pull up bar is advertised as an upper body workout bar.

I personally own this pull up bar and I have been exposed to a variety of different types of pull up bars. The old fashioned pull up bar, which is still being sold today, is a bar which attaches to your door frame by unscrewing the equipment to press against the inside of your door frame. There is an inherent risk and weakness in this old mechanism. The risk is the possibility of one not unscrewing the bar enough. This may result in the bar dislodging and losing its grip from the door frame which could lead to you falling to the ground with the steel bar possibly injuring you as it falls as well.

This is where the Iron Gym pull up bar steps in. They have developed a mechanism that uses your weight to hold the equipment to the door frame. It requires no screws and does not damage your door frame in any way.

With the Iron Gym pull up bar, it is possible to get a complete upper body workout with just this one piece of equipment. The advantage to be gained from using the pull up bar rather than using heavy weights is that your risk of injury in reduced. You are only using your body as a weight which is recommended way of working out as it builds your body in accordance with your body type.

I would highly recommend purchasing the Ab Straps. This adds to the upper body work out by allowing you to easily do the leg lift Ab exercise. This ab exercise is the one the actors in the movie “300” did. It is amazing and really works your abs.

The various types of workouts that can be done of the Iron Gym pull up bar are as follows:

- Chin-ups [Close hand grip, arm curl motion or wide hand grip]

- Pull-ups [Close hand grip or wide hand grip]

- Push ups [close hand grip, wide hand grip or holding onto the curved handles]

- Tricep dips

- Leg raises (use the ab straps)

- Crunches

The workout I follow:

- 10 Chin-ups [close grip]

- 10 Chin-ups [holding the arm curl bar]

- 10 Pull-ups [wide grip]

- 10 Leg raises [using the ab straps]

- I hold my legs straight in front of me, for 10 seconds, while holding onto the ab straps

- With my legs slightly bent and in front of me while holding onto the ab straps, I keep my upper body straight and turn my legs to the right and then to the left

- 10 push-ups [wide grip]

- 10 push-ups [close grip]

- 10 push-ups [curved handles]

- 10 leg lunges

- 10 calf raises

- 10 squats

Use of the Iron Gym pull up bar will result you becoming stronger, healthier, fitter and looking and feeling great about yourself!

Great review of the Iron Gym Pullup Bar. My muscles ache just from looking at the pictures. I bet it does provide a great workout.
